Touhou Fumo Racing is a free indie game developed by HonkyHood. As the name suggests, this is a racing game that stars the characters from the Touhou Project. Here, you can participate in various kart races against AI-controlled racers or up to four of your friends on split-screen multiplayer.

Touhou Fumo Racing is a fan game made for those who are into Touhou Fumo. It is not affiliated with Team Shanghai Alice. Additionally, players must note that the game is still in the early stage of development. It currently only has two tracks and has a few bug issues. 

How do you play this game?

In Touhou Fumo Racing, you will embody a Fumo character and compete in a karting race against other Fumo-fied Touhou characters. As mentioned, you can play solo against AI-controlled opponents or compete with up to four of your friends. Here, your goal is to complete five laps of the track. Your race is timed, and whoever gets to the fifth lap first wins.

The controls of the game are easy. The left and right arrow keys allow you to steer, while the Z key lets you accelerate. Meanwhile, the X key enables you to brake. There are various items that you can collect as you race. To use them, you only have to tap the spacebar. Be warned, however, that the steering buttons can be too responsive, making you swerve too much.

This racing game features eight Fumo characters: Youmu, Yuyuko, Cirno, Marisa, Reimu, Reisen, Sakuya, and Suika. You can also customize their look before the race by choosing their clothes and their vehicles. Even better, you can select the background music that will play as you race. However, as mentioned, there are only two race tracks currently available: forest and mountain.

Is the game good?

Overall, Touhou Fumo Racing is a must-play if you are a fan of the Touhou Project and kart racing. The game offers simple yet exciting gameplay. It also features eight Fumo characters that you can customize. However, as this is still in the early stage of development, there is only a small amount of content. Nevertheless, it is a fun game.
